red white and blue sampler
{each photo links to its shop}
{update 5 july}
hello all! started this post yesterday and was sidetracked by some fine fourth of july institutions -- food, friends, and giant crazy over-the-top all-merican fireworks extravaganzas. was supposed to be in texas (my little brother and sister played with the full city orchestra -- outdoor concert, 1812 overture, fireworks and everything, am so proud!) -- i *have* to go next year.
so for the first time last night, i walked down in the rain with about eight grillion of my fellow americans and stood in front of the washington monument and watched the show. it was gorgeous. the best part was being so close you could *feel* the fireworks exploding, these thundercracks of echoes retorting off the capitol. found myself full of hope -- election year, new directions. almost makes me want to sing lee greenwood to you (be very glad you're on that side of the screen!) -- you can take the girl out of texas...
no matter -- these hold up as fun summer items anyway, or perhaps for a military wedding. to my u.s. readers, happy long weekend!

Help! The red white and blue bowl jewellery holder (don't know what else to call it) leads to a broken link now. I want to know where to find it! It needs a closer look...
ReplyDeletehmm. it does seem the listing has been taken down, but there are others in the shop in different colors... i believe it's whomadeit's etsy store...
ReplyDeleteand 5am! (!!) must be related to the little ones. hope all is well with your gorgeous family! :)
Any thoughts on how to use red and bright blue for a wedding without it being 4th-of-July-ish? Something along the theme of the venetian journal save-the-date from Dauphine Press? http://www.dauphinepress.com/stdate-venetian.html
ReplyDeleteThanks!!
