myrakim: custom headpieces
{ custom bridal hairpiece with veil, flowers, feathers }
i'm not usually a huge fan of the feather 'fascinator' -- they can seem a bit tawdry, or old-wild-westy. but myrakim's use of color and little bits of french netting (russian netting? fancy-foreign-netting) sets her graceful work apart. each is custom made: materials include silks, organza, tulle, feathers, alencon lace, and beads, and can be as tawdry as you like.

Wow, I love these. They're so tasteful and understated!
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your very sweet post about my pieces! They are an absolute pleasure for me to create and hearing your feedback is an added bonus! You have a wonderful blog/resource!! Etsy is huge and you've really done a good job of highlighting some great pieces! Makes it easier to find those treasures (though every Etsy item is a gem!) when you don't have a ton of time!
All best,
Myra Callan

Myra is such a delight to work with! The large picture in your post is the fascinator/hairpiece she made for my upcoming wedding this October.
ReplyDeleteI simply gave her a couple of bits of info about my wedding dress & colour scheme and she came up with this divine creation :)
I can't wait to wear it!

ReplyDeletei have deleted a comment here that was very complementary to these custom pieces, and wanted to explain why:
ReplyDeletecomments are an amazing tool for developing community, and i hope to follow etsy's own forum guidelines regarding not calling out others publicly. you can see more here on etsy.
people absolutely have the right to express their opinions, even negative ones, but on this blog i strongly disagree with the use of an anonymous comment for doing so. in this instance, regarding an unrelated seller, there didn't appear to be grounds or benefit to the community.
again, i want to thank the poster for their many lovely positive comments on myra's work, which is truly amazing!
omg!! i absolutely love this head piece do you think this would fit a long sleeved lace wedding dress cuz i think its perfect??
