Wow!! Everything in Smitten's shop is so beautiful. It was hard to choose a favorite because everything was kind of my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI think the the Violets clip was my absolute favorite. (This one: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=33780212) The colors are so amazing! We are having a summer farm wedding and both the gardenia and the violet fit beautifully into our motif.

I love Smittnexoxo. I have been looking at her hair clips since before my engagement!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite photographer would have to be my fiance', but he can't do our wedding pictures (besides he hates dealing with brides like me)! My second favorite would have to be Courtney Herod. He did our engagement photos in Chattanooga, TN and they turned out wonderfully. http://courtneyherod.com/ Unfortunately he cannot do our wedding, since it is Santa Barbara, CA. For that the only ones my fiance' would accept was FotoCielo. http://www.fotocielo.com/ Their work is gorgeous and they have been easy to work for so far.
My favorite hair clip would have to be the Two Ruffle Gardenias in ivory. So simple yet artistically crafted.
kd_one@hotmail.com

ReplyDeleteI'm still loving the Lady Alabaster and Dos Gardenias Para Ti. Thanks for another chance to win your beautiful work!
I love the work of Punam Bean [http://www.punambeanweddings.com/]. I love her photojournalism style, and that everything she shoots looked natural and candid instead of completely staged like the type of stuff I've seen from other Indian photographers.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the Frost Blue hair piece. I've been going back and forth about whether to do the netted veil or just a flower but I suppose waiting for the dress would be a better plan:)
ReplyDeleteALSO, as for photography...I absolutely love One Love Photo. It's artsy and unique and something I'd love to see with my own wedding photos. Besides all that they just seem to get you completely comfortable and the pictures reflect that!
I am getting married in WI and since cost is a factor, we'll be going with someone more local. Check out these 2 photographers from La Crosse, WI: http://www.dawnsilvaphoto.com/

I wore the gardenia flower on my wedding day. It was so perfect and everyone thought that it was real. Leah is incredibly talented.
ReplyDeleteAs far as a local photographers goes.... andrewjordanphotography.com
ReplyDeleteLooking through his wedding portfolio it looks like he takes photos more to suit the couple's personality and style rather than his own which is what I think is great.
Smitten's shop is great. Good variety and different sizes for the hairpeices. Having custom orders is definetly a plus especially when it comes to wedding stuff.
littledeadmommy@gmail.com
These hair clips are amazing! I have been looking for the perfect one to wear at my wedding!
ReplyDeleteThe absolute best photographers in this area Ray and Erica Tisdale of 35 Atlanta. They are so amazing and talented. They're shooting my wedding in May. :)

I'd go for the Victorian - I'm really pale with dark brown hair, so it would be perfect for our small, casual summer wedding.
ReplyDeletenot.a.ship(at)gmail.com
I've got to say that the gardenia is by far the most perfect piece. I would love to show that off at my wedding this August.

wcswan2010@gmail.com
Wow.. this stuff is gorgeous. SO hard to pick a favorite... but I think I'd either go with the gardenia or Lady Alabaster.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE photography and one of my favorite things about planning my wedding has been the discovery of so many wonderful photographers. My favorites so far are www.jeffholtphoto.com/, http://www.sandrasalisbury.com and of course- our photographer!: www.kateharrisonphotography.com/ . All have a gorgeous style that is at once photojournalistic and intimate, modern but with an organic bend. The style that I'm drawn to was expressed perfectly by Kate: "You are searching for a photographer who brings joy, calm, eyes in the back of her head, passion, originality, laughter, spunk". Love it!
Oh! and my email, should you need it: aslan2806 at sbcglobal dot net
You have exquisite taste. I adore all your pieces, but 'Dove' takes the cake!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite photographer is Matthew Wright of Fig Tree Photography (FigTreePhotography.com). He's absolutely amazing at capturing the important moments in a photojournalistic/documentary fashion that makes flipping through one of his albums the next best thing to actually being present.
Oops... Forgot my email! It's khrysnikk@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteMy favorite wedding photographer is Jessica Claire at www.jessicaclaire.net, only wish she could travel to my wedding in South Africa!

I'd be over the moon to win the gardenia flower - our first dance is to "Dos Gardenias" played by the Cuban band we're having. (We are telling them to leave out the last verse...if you look at the lyrics you'll see what I mean!)
ReplyDeleteI love the photographer we're having for our wedding - she's just starting out but we had an engagement shoot with her and she was wonderful, and her photos made us look amazing:
http://emmacasephotography.blogspot.com/ - UK girls, book her! She's fab!
AHH!! I love those flowers! My dress has this huge icky sparkly bit on the hip and I need to cover it up with a big awesome flower - but so many are so beautiful! I really like the Number 10...or Number 5...or the Two Ruffle Gardenias in ivory...or the Ivory Peony! Are you kidding me? You want me to choose one!?!?!?
ReplyDeleteAs far as photographers in our area, I'm in love with Kage Imagery for their clean look and ability to capture the moment with such clarity. Also, Gene & Katie seem to be genuine and fun people who I'd be happy to have at our wedding.
*PHEW* so much beauty.

neeshy *at* gmail dot com
SO many choices! Argh.. but I am totally wanting a birdcage veil for my upcoming wedding, and her "Ravishing" headpiece is exactly what I want to wear!
ReplyDeleteI'm actually liking Nine Photography at the moment (www.ninephotography.com). I love how they can capture the joy and happiness of the event, without making their subjects look like they were posing. I especially love the filters/lighting effects they use to give the photos a vintage feel, yet some shots still keep that modern touch.
dizzy4311312@hotmail.com
I'm loving ALL these hairpieces! All are so gorgeous and add an element of FUN. My personal favorite is Lady Alabaster. Simple, but elegant and beautiful.

My favorites are Caroline Ghetes ( http://www.carolineghetes.com/blog), Millie Holloman (http://www.milliehollomanblog.com/), and Marthanna Yater ( http://www.marthannayater.com/).
ReplyDelete<3
jennifer dot euna dot lee at gmail dot com.
The gardenia needs to be in my hair, on my wedding, when I make out with my new husband! I have been growing my hair out for just such a flower. Gorg!
ReplyDeleteThe photography I can't get enough of and prbly can't afford is max wanger http://www.maxwanger.com/
there is such an identifiable viewpoint in his photos that they really border art rather than anything else. any of the pics would make an amazing living room piece even if they weren't your own wedding photos, ya know?
he clearly understands people and the subtlety that can be achieved with photography.
Love the gardenias! SO pretty! That's definitely my favorite. All of them are so fun!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite local photographer is lynell shooks at www.lizzieweddings.com. She's amazing and fresh and fun and gets incredible colors and creative scenes.

ReplyDeleteThese are so amazing! I dont know if I should thank you or be upset for all these amazing options! I always wanted a flower for my hair, but now to choose the style....I think I'm debating between the Poison in Peach or the Orchid...or thirties....or crystal blue - as you can see I can't decide!
ReplyDeleteMy fave photographer is Ben Di Caprio: I love his "top five" photos, and his ability to capture so much emotion in his pictures. http://www.benjamindicaprioblog.com/

I fell in love with a certain Southern California photographer because I came across these photos---http://braedonsblog.com/2008/12/25/seth-and-dionna-el-capitan. The pictures are a natural mix of rustic romance and simple elegance.
ReplyDeleteThe hair clips from smittenxoxo are also a good example of simple elegance. I'm thinking the ruffle gardenia clip may be a good detail for my wedding day!
Mmm, Etsy AND a giveaway, how can I resist?
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I LOVELOVELOVE these hairpieces!! I already have smitten noted as a favorite shop, and have swooned over these clips (including the Gardenia) for months! Another that would be absolutely PERFECT would be the Red Russian hair clip. The colors for our wedding are black and white with a dash of red, and this would really pop against my dark brown hair. We're also getting married in a barn near Boston, so the berries are a perfect rustic-New-England touch.
Email! douxquemiel at gmail dot com!
I love the gardenia clip!! I planned my whole wedding around the blossoming period of spring flowering trees, and this piece fits so perfectly into our wedding design.
ReplyDeleteI have loved for over a year, and still love, the women we ultimately chose as our wedding photographer. Megan Dupuis of Perspectives Photography, based outside of Boston, MA. Her detail shots are beyond compare! She manages to capture everything, and really highlights the natural beauty and architecture of the settings, something that was really important to my fiance and I. Her link is: http://www.perspectives-photography.com

savannahreneelopez@yahoo.com
All of her work is so fantastic. The flowers are amazingly realistic. My favorite photographer is Amy Parsons. www.amyparsons.com because she has such gorgeous saturated colors and just seems to have a good eye for it. I was looking at the album of pictures from one of her weddings and had to keep reminding myself I was looking at pictures and not watching a video.
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh i can't even begin to tell you how perfect these flowers would be for me! I was planning on wearing gardenias in my hair for my wedding because my grandmother did the same thing when she played in the Evansville Symphony Orchestra. Also, I'm from Baltimore so I'm a local :) My favorite wedding photographer is my photographer (and longtime friend) Melissa Barrick www.melissabarrickphotography.com . She's new and she's awesome!
