  2. Oh oh oh. What an awesome prize. I'm kind of torn on what I would get done! I think maybe top priority would be a picture from our wedding that we've always wanted to do something special with because it's not too wedding-y - http://www.flickr.com/photos/shadewedding/3208781420/in/set-72157612683383233/ Just us, standing on a bridge. I'd need longer to think about the words... Thanks so much for offering this contest and letting us know about this cool etsy seller!

  10. These are amazing!
    :)
My fiance and I have an appointment scheduled next month for a photo session in a tree.
    Sounds crazy, right?
our photographer found a beautiful tree standing in a lone field.
We are going to climb it and take a few pictures.
    Why?
We want to blow up a big photo and put the words 'Emie and Pepe
    Sitting in a Tree
    K-I-S-S-I-N-G
    First comes love,
    Then comes marriage...
    October 18th, 2009.'

This canvas print would be just perfect for our idea.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I think I'd pick the photo of my fiance and I we took in Central Park, the day we got engaged... on our second date. I had flown in from London and he'd driven up from Montreal and to my shock and his, he asked me to marry him that morning. We're getting married this year (3 and a half years later) and I'd put that photo with the quote by Rumi:

    Lovers don't finally meet somewhere,
they're in each other all along.

  32. i have loved this item on etsy for a while, and think it's a great idea. i would actually get this for my mom and stepfather with the words "i am my beloved's and my beloved is mine" which they have engraved on their wedding bands in hebrew. i love this sentiment and will use it when i marry as well. not only is it romantic, but it speaks to my heritage.

  33. For years my fiance and I always pictured a spring/summer picnic wedding with lemonade, tiny sandwiches and outdoor games like horseshoes and croquet. This idea wedding came from the feeling we'd get from a Trey Anastasio song that, whenever played, we would stop what we were doing and dance.

Though idea, it isn't to be. Last month we decided that we couldn't wait any longer and booked a reception/chapel for this December. It then struck us that our song had too much of a summery feel to it for a winter wedding. Later one of our favorite Ben Harper songs came on and I thought maybe it could be our wedding song. He agreed, admitting that he would tear up when he heard it while I wasn't around - something he never mentioned before in all the years we've been together. As a wedding present to him, I would have those lyrics added to the canvas.

Sorry to ramble on like I did! Thanks to both Stephanie and you for offering such a great giveaway.

  43. I got so excited when I saw this!! I have 2 that I have actually planned on buying from geezees, just waiting for the right time..

    1. My roommate, and one of my bestfriends, married an awesome guy Sept.6th last year. For their 1 year anniv I have been planning to get one of their wedding photos with the poem I Carry Your Heart on it..this poem was read at their wedding. They've always been there for me so this is my way of saying thank you!! :)

    2. My fiancee was in the army and went to iraq 3 times and lost 7 of his best friends..he was home for about a year and a half after the last deployment and was killed in a car accident Jan.28,2009. I have a photo of him and some of the guys in iraq that I have wanted to get on one of the huge canvases with the words below...
    "They shall not grow old,
as we that are left grow old:
    Age shall not weary them,
    nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
    and in the morning
    We will remember them."

I would probably just use the discount for mine and give my friend the giveaway if I won! :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. What a wonderful idea! I would love to display Geezees picture and word canvas in our home. I can't decide if I would want our engagement picture or wedding picture, but I KNOW I would want to use the quote from Captain Corelli's Mandolin about the trees and their roots becoming entertwined... :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. I'd love the opportunity to have a poem printed from my wedding:

"These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow, and forever. These are the hands that will work alongside yours, as together you build your future. These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch, will comfort you like no other. These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes; tears of sorrow, and tears of joy. These are the hands that will tenderly hold your children. These are the hands that will help you to hold your family as one. These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it. And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged, will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch."

  46. I would use a photo from our engagement session, and then we would have to negotiate which one of our favorite songs to use the lyrics from, and put those on there too! I think it would make a great gift for our parents though.

    ReplyDelete
  47. These canvases would be a perfect way for my fiance and I to display one of our favorite engagement photos at our reception. We're planning to use it as a sort of guest book too, and I think it would look great!

    ReplyDelete
  48. There is a picture of us on the bridge that was just down from our reception venue. I love the photo and would absolutely love to have it on a canvas!

If not that though, I'd have to go with the lyrics of one of our favorite songs :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. I'd love to use the poem that she has on there....by E. Cummings.

She is wonderful. I had many of conversations with her.

    ReplyDelete
  50. We just took an amazing engagement photo of him holding me while I'm looking up at him...you can see the love in our eyes. I'd love to capture that moment on canvas...

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  52. I would definitely select our favorite engagement photo to put on the canvas. :)

    ReplyDelete
  53. “love is the ultimate outlaw. it just won't adhere to any rules. the most any of us can do is to sign on as its accomplice. instead of vowing to honor and obey, maybe we should swear to aid and abet. that would mean that security is out of the question. the words "make" and "stay" become inappropriate. my love for you has no strings attached. i love you for free.”
    -tom robbins

and we would hang it above our bed and live happily ever after...

    ReplyDelete
  54. my FI and i are getting married on the beach..a great pic and this quote would be awesome with it:
Paradise is always where love dwells."
    --Jean Paul F. Richter

  55. Our empty "just starting out" walls could really use such a awesome piece of artwork! We will be having a vintage typewriter at our August wedding for all our guests to leave short little messages and advice. What a perfect way to remember our special day and all the kind words and memories of our loved ones. Thanks for such a great contest!

    ReplyDelete
  56. With my anniversary coming up later this month, I would love to win a canvas with some of the meaningful words, phrases and song/movie titles that sum up the last 6 years spent with my love :) He would think it was "the ginchiest" (definitely a word to be included on this canvas!)

    ReplyDelete
  57. I would use on of my favorite quotes. Especially this one from the book, Les Miserables:
“The supreme happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved; loved for ourselves--say rather, loved in spite of ourselves” -- Les Miserables, Victor Hugo
    Something profound yet simple.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I would love to have it with all the names from both my fiances and I family tree to symbolize the joining of our families.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I have to be honest, that if I were to pick anything, it would probably be either some poem that had special meaning OR an email or "love note" between my guy and I. I also know, though, that great commissioned art comes from great collaboration and discussion, so I'm also open to talking with the artist and coming up with just the perfect canvas concept! Thanks to both of you! What a cool giveaway!

  61. I would love, love, love to give this to my friend getting married in July. I'll be standing up as one of her bridesmaids just as she stood up for me in May. Back at one of my showers, her marriage advice to me as to "collect experiences, not stuff" which is classic Hannah and exemplifies what she's all about. Hopefully my photographer got a good shot of the two of them dancing at our reception (they were breaking it down). I'd love to combine that with some lyrics, but I'm not willing to commit yet. Right now I'm leaning towards "it's your flawless soul that bleeds my stone" from Paolo Nutini's "Loving You" but who knows. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!!

    ReplyDelete
  62. How fantastic. I'd probably use the lyric "tell me you'll be here to love me today", which will also be on the back of our programs. Gotta love Townes.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I LOVE these canvases! I fell in love with them when you posted them a couple of weeks ago!

We would use some lyrics from Ben Harper's "Beloved One" and then the date of our wedding.

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  64. Oh how I love these. I too am trying to fit one of these into my budget! My fiance and I got engaged when he was home on leave from Iraq. We got a few really special photos with him in his uniform. I would love to display one of those at our wedding reception with some lyrics of the song we will dance to. Thanks so much for the giveaway!!

    ReplyDelete
  65. My fiance and I started our relationship as email penpals--we had only met each other briefly at a bar while I was on vacation. Being on different sides of the U.S., those looooong emails were really how we got to know each other and is the true starting point of our relationship. There are some particularly touching snippets of those emails that we still reference to each, more than 2 years after we started writing. I would love to compile some of those email quotes as a wonderful way of commemorating how far we've come.

    ReplyDelete
  66. that's an awesome idea!
I would put a bible scripture that we choose in the background and a picture of us (probably an engagement one) :) :)

    ReplyDelete
  67. Love it!

Fiance and I met via match.com - I think it would be so fun to take snippets of our first emails and other meaningful words/phrases from our relationship.

I've seen these canvases before and think they are so cute ;)

    ReplyDelete
  68. I would love a print of my fiance and I with our dog from our engagement shoot!

    ReplyDelete
  69. I'd definitely ask her to put excerpts from pablo neruda's "Love" ...

    Of everything I have seen,
    it's you I want to go on seeing;
    of everything I've touched,
it's your flesh I want to go on touching.
    I love your orange laughter.
I am moved by the sight of you sleeping.

    ...

What am I to do, love, loved one?
I don't know how others love
or how people loved in the past.
I live, watching you, loving you.

    ...

That's why I love you and yet not why.
there are so many reasons, and yet so few,
for love has to be so,
    involving and general,
    particular and terrifying,
    joyful and grieving,
    flowering like the stars,
    and measureless as a kiss.

Sorry, I know it's long, leads to a long comment, but it's really pretty. We read it at our wedding, included it in our zine that we used as a favor.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I don't know what I'd put on this but I love the idea!

    ReplyDelete
  71. These lyrics remind me of how lucky I am to make it this far, to still love and be loved, to see how many obstacles we have overcome together..."You're still the one" by Shania Twain.

(When I first saw you, I saw love.
And the first time you touched me, I felt love.
And after all this time, you're still the one I love.)

    Looks like we made it
Look how far we've come my baby
We mighta took the long way
We knew we'd get there someday

They said, "I bet they'll never make it"
But just look at us holding on
We're still together still going strong

You're still the one I run to
The one that I belong to
You're the one I want for life
You're still the one that I love
The only one I dream of
You're still the one I kiss good night

    Ain't nothin' better
    We beat the odds together
    I'm glad we didn't listen
Look at what we would be missin'

I'm so glad we made it
Look how far we've come my baby

  72. This is adorable I would use this fun picture of us, taken during our first year of dating, we're soaking wet from playing in the rain and were holding hands. Then I would put this little thing he always says to me "I think I was born to love you" on it!

    ReplyDelete
  73. we had a friend of mine from high school, who is now an accomplished artist, draw a picture of me and my fiance for our wedding invitation. the two of us are off centered in the drawing with a dahlias in the foreground and an old time plane in the sky. the colored electronic version would look amazing on a canvass.thanks:)

    ReplyDelete
  74. Hmm - I have been wanting to figure out a way to have our guests sign on a canvas. I wonder if this would work? Put a small quote or bible verse then leave the rest blank for our guests to write on.

    ReplyDelete
  75. This would be so cool to win. These are so fun and pretty I'd have pictures of us with our friends at the wedding (which we are coming up fast on our first anniversary of-- this totally counts as paper). With the phrase "it's all happening" - which is my favorite line from Almost Famous and what my husband said to me a couple times during that crazy awesome day!

    ReplyDelete
  76. i love your blog, just stumbled onto it by accident! My brother produces cool wedding videos so I always have my eye out for creative wedding related stuff I can send his way!

    ReplyDelete
  77. I would love that. I would either use an engagement shot or a wedding shot with this on it.
    "For hearing my thoughts,
    understanding my dreams,
    and being my best friend...
For filling my life with music
    and loving me without end...
    I do.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Yay for Canadian love!!

I would definitely use a pic of fiance and I, with "God blessed the broken road that lead me straight to you" .. or .. oh man, too many choices!!

    ReplyDelete
  79. I would have a photo from our wedding (next month!) with the lyrics to our first dance song...crazy love by Van Morisson. :) It would match a piece from my sister (that she made) - a white canvas with the quote - "To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides."

  83. It would be a picture of us holding hands and looking back and some of our pet names for each other below us.

    ReplyDelete
  84. We're going to enter the ceremony at an old historic ranch house by riding our bikes to the opening song from Juno up a long country driveway. I have this image in my head of us laughing and riding together with streamers and dust trailing behind.

I'd love a pic of that, streamers and all, with a line from our first dance, "In spite of ourselves," by John Prine: "In spite of ourselves, we'll end up sittin' on a rainbow."

    ReplyDelete
  85. I would love to use one of our engagement or wedding pictures and the wedding reading that meant the most to us.

    ReplyDelete
  86. What lovely art work! I would choose the following poem by Robert Browning.

    "My Star"

    "All that I know
    Of a certain star
    Is, it can throw
    (Like the angled spar)
    Now a dart of red,
    Now a dart of blue;
    Till my friends have said
    They would fain see, too,
My star that dartles the red and the blue!
Then it stops like a bird; like a flower, hangs furled:
They must solace themselves with the Saturn above it.
What matter to me if their star is a world?
Mine has opened it's soul to me; therefore I love it."

    ReplyDelete
  87. I would love to put the words from one of our wedding readings on one of the lovely canvases!

    ReplyDelete
  88. I would love to use a picture of us and some verses from a poem byJoachim du Bellay, a French writer (1525-1560) :

Quand ton col de couleur de rose
    Se donne à mon embrassement,
    Et ton oeil languist doucement
    D'une paupière à demy close,

Mon âme se fond du désir
    Dont elle est ardentement pleine,
Et ne peut souffrir à grand'peine
La force d'un si grand plaisir

    As-tu peur que la jouissance
D'un si grand heure me face Dieu,
Et que sans toy je vole au lieu
    D'éternelle réjouissance?

    Belle, n'aye peur de cela,
Par tout où sera ta demeure,
Mon ciel jusqu'à tant que je meure,
    Et mon paradis sera là.

It's about love, death and paradise...

  89. I would use my husband's vows he read to me on our wedding day...they made everyone in the church cry and they mean so much to me... Here they are..

    Dawn,
The day is finally here. Our day, to commit our love, for each other, to the Lord, and show our friends and family. But most of all, to commit ourselves to each other, forever. Marriage is my promise, my commitment to you. I am honored every day to have such a wonderful woman love me. Even though I have known you for only three years I have dreamt of your love. I prayed for you. I dreamt of the feeling you give me. This is the miracle that hppens to those who love. The more they give, the more they possess. You are the most generous, loving, selfless person I know. You make my heart flutter. you are the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with, growing, and learning more about every second of our life together. I believe those who hope in the Lord will be renewed in their stength. Athey will soar on wings like eagles. You are an angel, my butterfly. You are my love. You are my biggest supporter and likewise, my biggest inspiration. Your son I accept as my own as I have ever since knowing you two. he is truly a miracle to my heart and life. I pray my love is enough to repay for such a wonderful blessing. I ask you now, in front of God, all our friends and family, to walk with me through this life. From this moment on, I swear to love and honor you until the day I die. I vow to be the strong and caring, loving and faithful husband you have always dreampt of. I will love you thorugh eternity.

If I couldn't use that, then I would use the words he proposed with which are:

Two hearts touch and love is born. Your love makes my life a beatiful place to be. God gave you to me from perfection. Faith, Trust, Happiness, and Love for a lifetime. Never leave me, always stay true. Give me your heart to care for. I give you mine. Hand in hand, side by side, together we have built a beatiful future. Will you honor me for the rest of my life? Will you be my wife?

Who could say no to that!

  90. This would be the best wedding present ever! I would really love to have one of our wedding pictures along with the words to "Golden" by Chrisette Michelle. We got engaged at her concert while she sang that song. :-)

  91. I'd love to put one of our wedding photos on it. We don't get married until July 3, so I don't know which one yet!

  92. I've been looking at these canvas' for along time. I would love to have one to gift to my parents for their anniversary, with nothing but the sheet music from Floyd Cramer's Last Dance. It's their song. We play it at every party/wedding/get together just to see them dance one last time. Kinda makes me tear up just thinking about it!!

  97. This is an amazing giveaway. I think I would use a picture of my fiance and I in our most romantic moment, with some lyrics from Etta James song "At Last" because I truly feel that I have finally found the love of my life.
